About the PsychANP
The PsychANP was founded in 2016 by a group of naturopathic physicians seeking to expand the field of naturopathic mind-body medicine. The goals of the organization include:
- Provide a forum for enhanced communication among healthcare providers regarding naturopathic psychiatry
- Develop and maintain repositories of information regarding naturopathic psychiatry to be available to the public, members and other healthcare providers.
- Encourage research and scholarly activity in naturopathic psychiatry among naturopathic physicians and interested academic and clinical agencies
- Organize and disseminate educational events and research presentations
- Establish a certification process for eligible naturopathic physicians to a specified standard of experience and knowledge in naturopathic psychiatry
- Provide guidance to naturopathic physicians, regulatory entities, and other health care providers as to the standards of care and scope of practice in psychiatry for naturopathic physicians
- Foster integration of naturopathic psychiatry into national healthcare systems.
