Dec 13th, 2016: Monthly Peer Consultation Groups Continue
No longer must you struggle alone with your most challenging psychiatric cases. Whether you are wrestling with questions of assessment or treatment, the best labs to order or the most effective interventions, there is a place to share those concerns with and get feedback from like-minded and supportive clinicians. It’s not always clear whether the center of gravity in a case lies in disturbed physiology, pathogenic life style behaviors, complex psychodynamics, maladaptive responses to trauma, disordered personality, a conflictual and toxic relationship, or some combination of all of these factors. Sometimes it can help to think together with other doctors who are trying to maintain a binocular vision of patients, a perspective that honors both the physiological and the psychological components of a person.
The formation of our monthly peer consultation group, led by Tara Peyman, ND and Dr. Stephan Ducat, ND and Phd started Dec, 2016. Both have extensive experience in case consultation and supervision. Please sign up for a group and bring your tough cases. Free to members, if you are interested see below to sign up for the group by clicking the link below. Or contact Dr. Tara Peyman directly at: email@example.com.
We have created 3 different groups that meet at 3 different times, to keep the groups small enough to be effective, and also to allow for people to choose the time that best suits their needs. You may request to join any of these groups, or you may create one of your own with a group of 2-5 doctors.
Please contact us here to become enrolled in this member benefit.
March 2016: Environmental Health Symposium
This conference focused on the assessment and treatment of environmental illness. We all know that environmental medicine crosses over and often directly affect mental health. Dr. Lyn Patrick and Dr. Walter Crinnion formed this group (the Naturopathic Academy of Environmental Medicine). Dr. Chapek, the president of the PsychANP, will be speaking at this conference on the latest approaches to treating Alzheimer’s and Dementia.
Visit the websites below to learn the latest on the assessment of various topics like heavy metal assessment and mycotoxin illness. It would be great to see you there next year!
